Our Research
The late Melton “Pet” Dreher’s motto was, “Know your people, and keep in touch with them.” Anthony, Pet’s youngest son, felt a need to search and find his roots so he decided to discuss this idea with other family members. He called a meeting of a few family members on August 4, 1979 at his home on Farrow Road in Columbia, South Carolina.
Through story telling, interviews, and official information from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, our family has traced our roots back to the last slaves of the Dreher plantation.
Reuniting & Rejoicing
From the first reunion in 1980, the Dreher family comes together from all of the country every 4 years to reunite.
